Dr. Jerry Washburn
Dr. Jerry Washburn
Dr. Jerry Washburn has over 40 years of experience as an equine veterinarian and joined forces with Evergreen Equine in December of 2021. Originally from Northern Idaho, he graduated from vet school from WSU in 1978 and completed an externship at Claiborne Farm in Lexington, Kentucky as well as an internship in equine medicine and surgery at Michigan State University. He returned from Michigan to Snohomish County and has been a mobile equine veterinarian here ever since. For a number of years, Dr. Washburn was very active with endurance riding, both as a competitive rider, along with his wife Terrie, and as a veterinarian. He was the head veterinarian at the national championship ride in Kentucky, the head treatment vet for the Pan Am endurance ride, and a speaker at the national endurance convention. Dr. Washburn has a passion for reproductive medicine, and worked closely alongside Dr. Howell for many years while establishing what we know today as the Evergreen Equine Reproduction Center. In addition to reproduction, Dr. Washburn has a strong interest in equine dentistry as well as senior horse care and management. When not working with horses, Dr. Washburn enjoys traveling and bike riding with this wife Terrie, as well as doing projects around their property.
