Digital Radiography
Just as digital cameras have revolutionized photography, DR is changing the face of x-ray technology. In less than four seconds, we can obtain a digital x-ray of your horse's injury or area of concern. The image is transferred to a laptop screen where it can be instantly reviewed. This technology eliminates the waiting period that was required to develop 'traditional' x-rays, enables immediate evaluation and correction of inaccurate positioning, and removes the possibility of repeated trips to the farm. Rapid acquisition of images allows us to quickly diagnose and begin treatment faster. We use the Eklin RapidStudyTM EDR3 Mark II portable digital radiology (DR) system. Eklin Medical Systems is a trusted leader in digital radiology and image management. |

Ultrasound
Our high resolution digital ultrasounds provide excellent imaging of tendons, ligaments, joints, and soft tissue structures. It is also excellent for breeding soundness exams, pregnancy checks, and thoracic and superficial abdominal imaging. |

IRAP (Interleukin-l Receptor Antagonist Protein)
IRAP therapy is effective in treating arthritic joints that have not responded to more traditional intra-articular therapy. IRAP therapy is also used for treatment of osteoarthritis. The IRAP protein, naturally present in the body, is collected from the patient, concentrated, and then re-injected into the diseased joint. |

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)
PRP is a therapy is very beneficial in stimulating growth of healthy soft tissue and bone in human medicine. Although still early in its adoption in veterinary medicine, this therapy has been successful used for 'bowed' tendons and other soft tissue injuries. The platelet portion of the blood is collected from the patient and concentrated, then re-injected into the injured area. The platelets are rich in growth factors and anti-inflammatory proteins that aid in healing. |

Endoscopy
Our one-meter endoscope enables us to examine the upper airways. Abnormalities in a horse’s upper airways can have negative effects on performance. Laryngeal hemiplasia or "roaring", displacement of the soft palate, laryngeal cysts, and tumors are all issues that can impair airflow and decrease athletic ability that can be identified using an endoscope. |

Gene Analysis
Recently new tests for genetic muscle disorders have become available. Tests of tail hair can now identify conditions such as HYPP and EPSM. This non-invasive testing provides reliable results without having to perform a muscle biopsy. |

VersaTron® Shock Wave
Shock waves are high-energy sound waves which are direct to the affected area. Shock wave treatment works by triggering the body’s own repair mechanisms, helping the body to heal. Shock wave technology from Sanuwave therefore provides a long-term improvement. In human medicine, shock wave treatment has been performed for over 20 years to treat a number of urologic and orthopedic conditions in a non-invasive manner.
VersaTron® utilizes electrohydraulic technology to produce shock waves. With this technology, a shock wave is generated at a spark source and is then focused to the target treatment area. The electrohydraulic technology as used in VersaTron® is the only type of shock wave technology that results in shock waves at the focus point for all energy settings. |
